These issues can seem remote from our daily lives, even though it is our everyday actions at work, home and leisure that can cause global environmental problems which can, in turn, have a major effect on our health, home, local surroundings and way of life. As individuals we are all responsible for the environment and it is now commonly recognised that even apparently insignificant individual actions can result in significant beneficial changes to the environment.
