Environmental Records
Important Documentation and Records Required
The following records need to be held onsite:
- A copy of the Environmental Policy signed and in date
- A copy of the Organisation chart / Persons Responsible for Environmental Matters
- Records of any Site Specific Environmental Impact Assessments
- Records of any Legal/ Legislation Reviews
- Records of any reviews of Other Requirements such as Client Requirements
- Records of any reviews on Energy Use
- Records of any reviews on Water Use
- Records of any Objectives and Targets set
- Records of any Environmental Planning/ Plans
- Records of any Emergency Preparedness and Response Planning
- Records of any checks done on Waste Contractors
- Copies of Waste Transfer Notes
- Copies of Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes (old and new versions)
- Records of Site Waste Management Plans (Construction)
- Records of any Environmental Training conducted
- Records of any Environmental Briefings/ Toolbox Talks conducted
- Records of any Spill Drills
- Records of any Communications on Environmental
- Records of Workplace Inspections that cover Environmental Issues
- Records of any Internal Audits
- Records of any Legal and Other Compliance Checks
- Records of any Environmental Management Meetings
- A Document Register
- A Record Register
All these records need to be held in a secure place (or places) and easily accessible when required. Some records need to be held over an extended period of time.
Copies of these records could be requested by parties such as Internal and External Auditors, Clients and the Authorities/ Legal Agencies such as the Environment Agency.
